Bursting Light

Bursting Light

A Poem by Gary H

Light of my life bursts through bright morning sky
Touching my soul, so desperate to fly
Cottonbud clouds shroud past regrets
Holding thumbs for when we first met

Soft breeze of passion sees love swimming in the air
Hands express pure gentleness running through your hair
Mischevious golden waves of inviting amber rays
Forever on fire, we dance, pulsate and sway

Smouldering skin, sensuous shoulders burn
Heat of the day says we never learn
Eyes move in places never caught in the shade
Love breathes forever in a breeze that never fades

Sometimes sad raindrops explode on the pavement
Watching them land sparkling with wry amusement
Destiny will save us, locked within stares
Flavours explode incandesecent with flair

Fancies and musings of shimmering moonbeams
Together at night in adoring dreams

Man, you've got it bad. Should I send over Dolly for a wee visit? Stephanie, even? Aw, shucks, Gary, the romance is oozing from your fingers now!!!! It's incredibly sickening, I mean, adorable. ; ) Your words lift me up to a fantasy realm....and make me want to linger there all day. Excellent work.

Mystical, beautiful...bravo! This is so tenderly written as if you touched her hand and there was magic :-)

This is a nice piece, and a great way to end a long day. I loved reading it, the rhythm easy, the cadence gentle, and the pacing smooth. Great job!

There is something so beautiful in this piece that makes me feel great just reading it. You have described so well the emotion of love and fear at the same time, So beautiful and so pure. Absolutely wonderful!!!

"Smouldering skin, sensuous shoulders burn
Heat of the day says we never learn" - a nice bit of realism amongst the romance...the sun can be dangerous...maybe love also?

This kind of poetry isn't really my style but I think you've done a nice job with the rhyme scheme and imagery.

Thanks for sharing.

oh my gosh... that is really beautiful!

Seriously, I am a huge fan of poetry and I've read numerous ammounts of poetry and sonnets etc and this is one of the best love poems I've ever read. It's the sort of thing a girl would absolutely love to have written for her, you should be really proud of this well done! It has a "roll off your tongue" sort of rythmn and I ADORE the word incandescent.... this definately gets my vote! And congrats, I think you are the only person I have ever given 100% rating to! I'd love to read more by you if this is the quality you produce :) x
