III. Scarlet Red

III. Scarlet Red

A Chapter by Green Regol

He lays me down

Upon my couch.

The lounge is red;

Grape-skin red.

My painted hair

tumbles over

the cushioned chair.

Watching over

my shriv'ling frame,

the demon sighs.

He asks my name;

beside me lies.

I grin weakly

with quick response.

"They call me Red;

Scarlet Red."
