A Red Waistcoat And Green Fingers

A Red Waistcoat And Green Fingers

A Poem by Gee
"

Hide and seek on an allotment

"
Hide and seek flirtatiously
flitting to and fro',
between the newly upturned sods
and bramble laced hedgerow.

A robin with the old man played
as always on it's terms,
hiding whilst the gardener toiled
then seeking out the worms.

And who can blame those little birds for being so perky after a long cold winter. :)

Thank you...
Very nice use of words.
"Hide and seek ,flirtatiously,
flitting to and fro',
between the newly upturned sods,
and bramble laced hedgerow."
The above lines. They danced and create visions for the reader. I liked the way you twisted the words to make your point. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.

I like your work and you are welcome.
Stunning visuals. As a gardener myself I could smell the earth.

Thanks for sharing

Thank you for reading
it is sweet, made me smile, still am. How I love robins, territorially grumpy or not... they have both personality and character - rather like.. let me think.. human beings.

What a delightful poem. It's like a dose of medicine.. thank you.

Nice one Gee. I can picture this write fermenting in your head as you toil the land, tired after a hard days graft, wondering what it would be like to be as carefree as the robin who's next meal you are preparing :)

Yes, definitely sweet and so true. Our robin is sure to pop up whenever we do the gardening. (love the rhyme, terms worms.)
