Abandoned Writers Cafe

Empty rooms in empty halls.

Accounts silent - long abandoned
the words bankrupt
vacant fronts of creativity
washed over; hollow; run down.

Verbs sway on rusted hinges
the strains of old poems
cross pages like tumbleweeds.

Profiles shuttered - desolate
unopened for years, collect dust
while messages to forgotten friends
go unanswered

I still visit the profiles of old friends here, some that I know seldom if ever, revisit the site. Others are departed from life itself. I revisit their comments on my posts on other sites as well. I'll find one and say, well, wasn't that nice? This is eloquently poignant. I enjoyed and I relate. F.

As do I. They are like monoliths on a partways barren land.

Oh Man this was totally me until last week. I lost myself to the bustle of a hectic life. Dusting off those poems and bringing a new shine. :) Nice poem.

I love this image, Tim!
Along with your penned words on how this is sad to lose members to silence here.

Thanks so much Kelly. :)
I often wonder where the disappeared have gone. Your lines,
while messages of forgotten friends
go unanswered

Yes, haunting, eloquent poem. Sad when friends leave. Wonder where they go. Wish them well...

You are very welcome. It is a beautiful poem.
It's hard when a site goes through a harsh transition. When people pit one against the other and motives are lost on vacant minds. I miss the old days...but not the pain and hatred... xo
