Part 1 section 2

A Chapter by Emme

"We're burning down the highway skyline on the back of a hurri-"
Screech! Crash!
"Oh, s**t. A car accident. Now we'll never get home," I said.
"Maria, don't think of it as 'Oh, s**t.' Think of it as, 'I hope those people are okay.'", Jon said, pretending to scold me.
"I do hope those people are all right. But they're also blocking my path!"
"Don't think of it as blocking your path. Think of it as... as... as... okay think of it as blocking your path. Just remember that they can't help it."
"Fair point."
An hour later, we were finally moving. (And yes, everybody was okay.)
"Good thing we're finally moving. I've gotta go."
"That might've been too much information, Jon," I said.
"It's true! I GOTTA GO!"

A few hours later...

"I like this record baby, but I can't see straight anymore. Keep it cool, what's the name of this-"
"Who are we listening to anyways?" Jon asked dancing along to the Lady GaGa music coming out of my car stereo.
"Lady GaGa. Do you like it or do you want me to change it?" I asked although I knew the answer.
"Nah, keep it on," Jon replied as "The Fame" started playing. "You've got a good playlist."
"Thanks," I said.
"Yes we wanna live the life of the rich and famous."
"So when are you moving?" Jon asked.
"Three weeks."
"That sucks. You're one of my best friends. I'm gonna miss you!"
"Can we drop this? I'd like to enjoy my time here."
At this point my iPod had switched tracks.
"Do you remember, do you remember, do you remember, all of the times we had?"
I pressed the skip button.
