Spiritual Autopsy

Spiritual Autopsy

A Poem by Rob Santana
"

G.O.O.D. V.S. E.V.I.L. (acrostic write #1) possible lyrics

"

Gathering  together  the  chosen  ones

Organizing  the  two  faced  holy  nuns

Oracles  regurgitating  obscene  incantations

Death  with  it's  final  cancellation

Venomous  words  invade  my  subconscious

Salvation, worship, obey or die

Erupting  with  dire  aggression eyes  filled  with  fire

Violent  images  received  through  voodoo  voyages

Insane  idolaters  performing  a  spiritual  autopsy

Lucifer  pens  my  obituary….”He was spiritually weak”

Wow, quite a read this one, powerful, provocative in reactions from the reader. As well as expressive in general. Direct and raw as well as dramatic. Just like Religion in general sometimes. Love or hate. This speaks volumes. Religion is a topic not many would speak against. I admire your bluntness and honesty. And this made me think and take note too.

Altho I find your critical judgment a little hard to stomach, I do relate to some of this message as being the reason I've never been able to get cozy with organized religion, even tho I consider myself a spiritual being. I think this is an understandable response to too much inundation in a judgmental form of religion. I take your author's note to be a sign that you are also against judgmental anything.

Total bad-assery! love the capitol letter message(acrostic), and the piece as well, a battle many struggle with. Also the title wicked, "Spiritual Autopsy" a cold piece indeed! Thanks for sharing. I can relate for my writing too reflects me battling my daemons.

I hope it doesnt end with Lucifer getting to pen your obit Rob
The battle lines drawn - you have the best intel - ergo you will prevail
An epic spiritual tapestry my friend

:p you got me
Great acrostic. I'm from the rural south so I got the southern baptist tradition growing up. According to the preacher we were all going to hell when the rapture came so we were damned if we did and damned if we didn't. I don't believe any of it now

I don't believe in any of that either. Thanks for stopping by Baby.
Very creative and very moving and filled with emotion. The ending gave me chills, i just think the fact that you used Lucifer instead of say satan was very clever and a great use of that last line.
