A truth long sought

A truth long sought

A Poem by Joel Armstrong

"Ah, fellow traveller ,o'mine
Thou journey was fine
 I do hope?
But thy bearing does say otherwise.
Tell me o noble one, what bothers thine
oppressed mind."

"It is the truth that I seek,
O fellow traveller, o'mine
What lies beyond the doors of death?
What awaits me there ,once I
Part those dreaded doors.
'Seek and ye shall find' ,
It is often said,
For I have long sought ,
yet naught found."

"  The truth is , o'
Fellow traveller o'mine,
What lies past those doors I know not
But the truth, I know will matter not
Once i part those dreaded doors.
For ti's the beginning of the end , and
The dawn of a new beginning."

This poem is an masterpiece, for it is a epic combination of using old English and giving the reader something important to think about. We humans have lived our life without never seeking what's behind the door. Some are afraid and some do not want to seek it but I want to know what is behind that door. What kind of revelation will it bring and is it really worth it. I would love to see more of your poems with old English, for it creates an epic fantasy feeling when being read. I really enjoyed this poem, for I could feel the emotions and thoughts of the writer beneath each words.

Good job :D

The subject is intense...but I feel there is more emotion in you than the words....let it flow fully...create eternal bliss...let nothing hold you back...

That's amazing :) .The truth is in fact a spot in the distance and we all are indeed travelers in search for the truth that never unfolds itself to us. Very well penned and loved that you used Old English.

Ooh, very beautiful!
I think all humans ask themselves this question no matter what age or religion we have.
That's why I also think almost everyone could relate to this poem.
I love the way you used two voices for this, one that ask and the one that gives an answer.
Great job!
