It Must Have Been Spring

It Must Have Been Spring

A Poem by MsJewel
"

~ the honey was sweet ~

"

It must have been spring…

the bees were busy

the honey was sweet

and sweeter still

when shared beneath the beauty of cherry blossoms

blooming

and lush leaves breathing melodies

of sun and shade

as the afternoon swayed

into the night…

Her velvet dress unzipped

desire exposed and overflowing

on the warmth of the wind,

as the moon winked to an ocean of stars

glistening

We swam in the tide,

blowing kisses to the stars

tempting these winds

til trees lay bare

and cherry blossoms were our only cover

from the blush of the moon…

Yes,

it must have been spring…

the honey was sweet

Sublime meandering through the heat in many ways :) Glorious imagery and sensations to behold...

You have a romantic way of describing things, but not in an overly sappy way. It's just right.

This brings me back to a simpler time in my life. When the summer nights were not so cluttered with adult things and I could just enjoy them for what they are.

Too many people get caught up in replicating the past. They forget that the present isn't much different, it is us who are different. The past isn't in itself what was beautiful, the unbridled optimism of youth is what is beautiful.

I might of got a little off track there... sorry for rambling.

The chosen graphic beckons the reviewer closer, then - your words tie the reader to your beautifully expressed love-in. Spring's moments seem far longer than all the other seaons' !

This is ripe with sensual innuendo and poetic tranquility. Lovely scene painted with just the right amount of nectar to sweeten the flow.

Velvet dresses must come off under these circumstances.
Your poetry lies bare the beauty of springtime.

Thank you my dear friend :) Julie
It seemed all around them became spring, all bursting in sweet life, and all awakening the earth to their touch. What a beautiful, sensual joy of words and thoughts.

What a sweet touch of romantic poetry Julie... made me feel like a bee diving into spring blossoms, savoring the nectar.... also reminded me, many years ago now, of warm summer nights, of sun dresses that fell easily and the warmth found under the stars.... probably a good thing those stars didn't have cell phones with cameras or social media... lol... thanks Julie for such a honey sweet poem....
