Single Tear

Single Tear

A Poem by KWP
"

a poem of acceptance

"
a single tear
rolls down my cheek
thinking of you
in goodbyes

parting ways
i dared not speak
darkness
offers brand new light

nothing shall
remain the same
connection is
so brief

together riding
along the plane
never venturing
underneath

we pushed we tried
with all our might
both knowing
all was lost

a single moment
was our plight
love given
at no cost

as the tear
is swept away
within the gentle
evening air

acknowledging
the lessons taught
stripping my
soul to bare

You have to so soft in your nature so as to observe and write so much about a teardrop. But you are. Thank you so much for sharing this poem.

This poem is beautiful. I didn't know we could write so much about a single tear. Amazing. :)

This is great the emotions are so raw in this poem. You did a great job on it.

I read this twice, three times, to soak in the images. Beautifully stated, at the end I am seeing Rick and Ilsa parting at the airport, surrounded by the fog, Rick telling Ilsa she would regret it if she stayed - "Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow, but soon and for the rest of your life."
So, somehow in your sparse, simple words, you made that whole movie replay for me. Must find the DVD in this mess and watch it again this weekend.
OK, I really like this one. A lot. You may not have been able to tell that though.

a refreshing rebirth through the pain .. that's what your poem gives me this morning ... especially like the first verse a single tear thinking of you in goodbyes .. .love that!!
and the last verse ... ending with a clean and wiser slate to be written on by life ..
