Speak

Speak

Speak
In silence; in emptiness
you speak
I hardly understand you,
Understatement
I find you provoking; swallow my pride (Bride)
In silence, in emptiness I speak
Hardly fret (find) the time
to speak,

Well, we must better articulate in eloquence and listen in sincerity eh? I just got a summons for jury duty next month so I may be doing a trial of hearing before long. I'm in my sixties and never served on jury duty before. It may be interesting if I'm chosen. We'll see.

I went, I saw, I went home and they paid me. (laughing) I didn't really want to do that anyway.

Well, we all must find a voice and have a choice and make ourselves heard, every word. Loved this. F.

this hooks me .. so many scenarios within few lines .. it makes me think of two people in a relationship facing each other .. both with their lips sewn shut .. but so much going on inside them both .. i feel a very real sense of tragedy .. people cut off ... for me .. very emotive ... imagery very suggestive says i! thanks for sharing!

This poem just feels right and is just written with such brilliance, I feel. It hits hard and differently, with such a direct take on silence. Silence can be good, it can be bad. ‘I find you provoking; swallow my pride’ I love this line. It adds so much more emotion and almost weariness and fear to this piece. I also love the line ‘I hardly understand you’. Silence is deafening sometimes, and the way you played on that made this poem such a level deeper. Thank you for sharing.

Short and hard hitting. Silence is a type of speaking as well, pauses and sighs, glaring of eyes. It is quiet deafening and blinding as well. But I'm taking that to another tangent. Much enjoyed. Thanks for sharing.

I am happy to see that You are writing something else rather than horror. though this is short but I see power through it, I feel like You are trying to get your power back in any possible way even of through silence. well sometimes it is all what we have my friend.

This is written with a poetic pen! Silence can be loud, but sometimes it's best to stay that way1

what you say is like sign language and I am one who cannot read that...

silence is often louder than words.
take time, speak what matters, and what is truth, or stay silent.

I really like this piece,
j.
