Author's Note

So one of my best friends recently started dating this guy. She's been with him for a few months now and I thought that maybe after time it would get better, but now I don't see that happening. Recently, even before she started dating him, she had some problems with depression and would sometimes cut herself. It killed me to see her doing this, because she's been my best friend since I was three years old. When she told me that she met a guy I was so happy because I thought that this would solve the problem. That this guy would make her happy again. But when I heard who it was I was completely wrong. This guy was in the druggie group and even though my friends swears all he does is smoke I've had my other friends tell me about him offering them drugs. I can't stand her being with him anymore. When she starting dating him, her cutting problems got worse, and instead of him trying to get her to stop, whenever she asked him to hurt her, because she liked the pain, he did it. It still kills me every day to see her with him. I don't want my best friend to become one of them.

Wow! I can see how much you care about her in this. I can see why you are concerned about her. If you don't mind me asking how did she meet this guy?? Have you told her how you felt? I know with some people that doesn't work but you never know right. I hope she gets better. She sounds like a great friend. I hope one day she tell him go away!! He doesn't need to be around her! Drugs are not good! I guess he didn't see all those commercials and the tv shows that tell you that. Well, I wish you the best with your friend I hope she finds someone better! She met him at school. And I think she pretty much knows that every doesn't like him. But anyways yeah haha. I'm not definite that he does drugs yet, cuz right now she said that he just smokes, but the rest of his friends do a lot worse things. So all I really hope for is that he doesn't get her involved in drugs and stuff like that. And thanks for the review! haha

A really meaningful song. I don't know if you can help her! Do you have a drugs site like 'Talk to FRANK?' Also, have you tried speaking to her mother? Or researched suicide so that you know how to help her overcome it? You may not be able to convince her to break up with him, but you can certainly try different ways of helping her

Thank you! And yeah it's a really trick situation. I mean it's not like she does drugs herself but I don't want her boyfriend to influence her into taking them, or think that it's alright. And no, I don't think her mom really knows about it but I don't want to get her into trouble because she's already been through enough problems with her mom. And I really don't think that she wants to commit suicide or anything like that. I believe that just when she gets upset she likes to mask her emotions with pain. And I know we've talked about enough times with her that we don't approve of him but it only seems to make her upset and I don't want to push her away from me and all of our friends. Thanks for the advice!
