Yes, same. And that is why I am very careful of who I surround myself with. If you can't trust people who have your ear then how in hellfire can you trust the voice - your consciousness - in your mind? Love this; so true.
As for the debate. "Home is where the heart is." If you have no home all you have is you, and the will is you... so to me its the will that lasts because the mind is the ultimate weapon. The heart is our moral compass but we have to have the will to so much as look at the compass. Of course, this is reminding me of the chicken or the egg debate but meh, I've said my piece XD
Anyways, good work!

I like how you phrased the will to look at the heart's compass. You are absolutely correct in saying that the mind is the ultimate weapon. It can often play tricks on us and cloud judgement if we are too steadfast in ignoring the heart. Thank you for the kind review, my friend!

I have used my mind in the past to shut down traumatic memories and have only recovered them recently - because I believe my mind recognized my heart/will was not strong enough to take them without being destroyed by them... whereas now, I can. Does that make sense? And no problem for the feedback. I love hearing it so why not give a little (or in my case, a lot) back?

I can never figure out what that ache is it is a bother at the very least it is incredibly rude. Palpable palpitations in these lines like an echo-cardiogram with a direct line to the soul:)

Hi, Laurie!
What a joy it is to breath-in the emotional and spiritual essence of these caressing words your heart has inscribed upon the page, that only love (itself) can succinctly hear and understand.
So easily love's ache can penetrate even the most firm convictions … nothing can overcome or resist, once its power chooses you.
Written in brevity, there is nothing small or conservative about your poetic prowess.
I feel embraced … thank you ever-so warmly! ⁓ Richard ; )

I adore how you've connected the missing pieces in this piece to me. What comes between the aching? This is the question I've often debated. Thank you, again, for the fond words of encouragement.

I want to know which breaks down faster, the love or the will. I guess that is a little game that is played on and on again with each new challenge of new love or a relationship. A really good point here and a very fine poem. Thanks!
