Nothingness/Happiness

Nothingness/Happiness

A Poem by Karina Longo

Hello silence,
You're my addictive fake version of peace.
Hello England,
You're my cold illusory hall of dreams.

It took me a lot to realise
That happiness doesn't have a shape
or a price,
Happiness is an infamous invention;
It is NOTHING, and nothing is

Me
Merry-go-round, the life -
Having fun or puking, you never know.
I should get out and stop this game
of going round
But then again it would mean incertain
wandering around.

(Which could be good if you don't believe
in Heaven or Hell.
Everyone goes to their own empty purgatory after-life,
waiting for NOTHING - yes, once again - nothing is everywhere
and nowhere, too.
We're condemned to everlasting expectations.

Silence. Illusions. Never reality. Never - ever - peace.)

That pursuit of happiness seems just out of reach, do we really know where this merry go round of life takes us my friend?
