A Poem by Lydia Shutter

dark tendrils of clouds
snaked their way into my room last night
till i ran out of dreams and rainbows
i awoke thirsty for a new day
heard the songbirds' sweet melody
drank in the morning dew
and once again i was won over
by the simple joy of life!

Simple of joy of life comes from many events. In your case the experience you encountered in the last night and following morning are really unique and enjoyable.Specially your cravings for an eventful new day when you heard the sweet melody of songbirds are really worth being won over by the simple joy of life.
Great write indeed.

taking this one to heart Lydia! emotive, layered, universal and i absolutely love the victory of reveling over our simple things .. like the morning dew ... it will win everytime over dark tendrils .. if we only allow it ;) love and joy my friend .. thanks always for your sharing .. right here at the Cafe' :)

Whatever the wretchedness life can throw... draw back the curtains and see what the day promises... dark clouds raging, sunshine peeping... then hear the birds sing from hidden places or fluff up their plumage and you know.. you know for sure.. that you've be given another mystery to unfold. That's what your poem says to me.. and I want to learn it, remember it.. and applaud, dear Lydi. xx

Thanks so much, Gram. Have a good weekend. Lydi*
This is simply brilliant! What a way to say everything that you are not actually saying here . . . about the miracle of being alive, despite the drudgery that can be part of that! Love the balance of ups & downs of life being presented as the necessary fullness of the miracle. I've missed reading you! Great to be back! (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

there's so much beauty in each day to chase those dark tendrils of cloud away, they will always come but great to see they don't linger too long
