Puppet On A String

Puppet On A String

A Poem by MOON

He played me like a violin a puppet on a string

He told me his heart was only mine love would only bring

Golden warm sunsets and a pair of birds on the wing

Crimson dawns and church bells ours was more than a fling

So I swayed to the music then I felt the bee sting

Love was an uncut diamond and I would to it cling

Whispering sweet words in the night he spoke like a king

In the white morn like a joker arrows he would sling

He played me like a violin a puppet on a string

He made a bitter meal of everything I would bring

He shattered me like glass and broke the fine wedding ring

Then he left took a joyride with someone on a swing

He played her like a violin a puppet on a string

You played this broken heart symphony well, your strings are met to be in another caring hand....keep playing your music of the heart, so someone will listen some day and understand your more than instrument to be plucked, your part of a beautiful match maker masterpiece not yet written to be loved ... thanks for the exposure

Wow Moon, this hits home, you've put it so beautifully even though it's such a sad state of affairs, no pun intended. Nice work.

deceitful, breaking promises, smooth talking, man....takes what he wants, throws what you offer in the dirt, and goes after his next prey. i know a guy like that. i even used to like him....you described it very well..

A symphony of "ing"...you've managed to take an age-old theme (men are pigs *laugh*) and breathe into it new life. StunnING ;-)

Your form and flow are simply flawless, and in every line you paint an aching picture of love gone bad... twisted and turned... Such an emotional sting.
