Holding Back

Why did she wait to so long? Why had she held everything back? Why had she loved you? If only you could tell her why....

I'm holding back the tears

Because I know it's not worth it

 

Sure it hurts

But it wouldn't make a difference

 

My feelings for you were too strong

Making it that much harder to say goodbye

 

I had waited.... and waited at the door

Hoping you would show up soon

 

Hours passing fast

And the night becoming dark and frosty

 

I sighed....

And then decided it was time to go

 

My car was powdered in snow

And was silently parked alone

 

Once in the car

Tears began to fall

 

My cheeks were burnt cold

Making my tears turn to ice

Why couldn't I just let go

And stop holding all my emotions back

I was only drowning in my misery

And dying inside

If only you knew

How long I waited for you

And how long

I had been holding back...
