Smile

Smile

A Poem by Najam Us Saher
"

It is important for everyone to smile and also to make everyone smile.

"

SMILE

Smile says many things, and also hides a hundred pain;

Like the sunshine that comes after rain.

People see the sunshine and say it might have rained,

Likewise, when you smile they believe in your smile even though you are in pain.

Every time you smile, may be for any reason;

But please smile, it doesn't need any occasion.

Don't smile to hide the pain,

Smile to heal the pain.

Each smile says something,

Smile with your pure heart, not in a cunning way;

Ah! What a pretty smile people should say.

But I don't want that smile which everyone likes,

I want that smile by which when they look at it they smile.

Oh-YES! :-D
There is nothing better to overcome disappointment and pain,
to shut out the rain,
nothing to lose, everything to gain.
So, smile
for awhile.
It will shoo all your cares away,
make the bright sunshine stay.

Najam,
Your words, written in lovely and encouraging poetic voice, truly touched my mind, heart, and soul, inspiring that little unmetered poem of my own.
It is such a poem as yours that makes reading feel so very worthwhile … you are a beautiful person on the inside, and probably on the outside, as-well.

Thank you ever-so warmly for sharing You! ⁓ Richard

Yes....you are right. ☺
You made me smile by this one. Hehe what a great command of words you got there. I felt like it lacks of imagery though. All in all, well done.

Yes...but sometimes we don't even feel like smiling. Thank you for reading :) I appreciate it
This one of your many poems truly resonated with me. Thank you for that. "But please smile, it needs no occasion // I want that smile by which when they look at it they smile." By far some of my favorite lines I have read in a long time. (As a sidenote: Sorry for not having the time to respond to your reading requests recently. Life has been difficult)

Thank you so much. ☺ I am feeling widely elated to know that you liked it.
Great poem! Smiles can be deceiving, they can be used to hide pain, but at the same time they can brighten someones day if you smile for them, and smiles can be considered both friendly and beautiful. Smiles could be interpreted as fake, real, happy, or a way to say "I'm ok". Smiles are quite fickle in a way, because they could almost mean anything.
