Communication Skills

A Poem by NoelHC
"

My 22 month old grandson taught me how to prepare his milk bottle

"
A slight pressure against my leg
A small hand tugging at my jeans
Guiding me to the fridge
Pointing at the milk on the shelf
I think I know what this means

I pour it out in his small bottle
He climbs on the tall kitchen chair
Stuck halfway; he asks me "Uppy"
I help him sit properly
As he points at the microwave there
And says "Meep, meep, meep"

The last line had be smiling and giggling.

~ "Meep, meep, meep" ~

That's so cute, Noel -- it's lovely how kids can change us and shape us. Their cute little laughs and all, I used to baby sit all the time when I was younger and I could never get enough! They're too cute and this was gorgeous. Definitely portrayed the cuteness.

It is soo simple yet says a lot and is quite cute:) Sometimes I don't think we give little kids credit because we view them as children and nothing more.

A very sweet and cute write Noel! I love kids (no matter how my tales of terror sometimes tend to feature evil kids). Thanks for sharing!

Aptly titled, meaningful content and excellent form, vividly depicted with imagery and emotion. Very original correlations.

Thank you Kelly, that microwave noise was the part that cracked me up.
So cute. Yep, this age is wonderful. And even if they don't talk, they do.

He seemed to have no difficulty getting his point across, thanks for dropping in.
I was lost in a really precious moment! You do well with life poems. I love how you were able to fill in so much detail in such a short poem. You should let him read this when he gets older.
