No one wants to be taken for granted...we all want to feel loved and attention paid to us, for real!
I'm sure many people feel unwanted, and if they do, then it's curtains for the relationship; human nature reacts to emotions, gestures and passion and that should be the guiding light....not being taken for granted... well written Sharon and interesting.
Warmly, B

Thanks so much Betty for a beautiful and appreciated review! ~Sharon
Oh this one is fantastic, Sharon. Lyrical verses and the fourth one is so very intimately romantic. The last verse shows your inner strength. No one should ever take another for granted. Loved this one. Lydi**

Now, that is too much to ask from him; the genie can only fulfill 3 wishes. Just kidding.
Simple requests, bit a serious trust issue at the end.
I love it!

Life is about give and take. There are many takers and many who take advantage of the good nature of others.
You have given your readers a beautiful poem to contemplate this morning Sharon. Have a wonderful day dear poet.

You have touched my heart with your kind words Chris. Thank you my friend! ~Sharon
A wow of a finish! Your meter really gives punchy vigour to this almost but not quite love poem Sharon. Seems rather like a duel: 'step away, listen, take seriously and.. watch for my ongoing stand. Witty words, tongue in cheek:
'Take a leave of absence
Take me at my word
Take me at face value
Take everything you've heard'
The poetry sound like my grandchildren. Always needing to go somewhere. Dear Sharon, I did like dance of words. I want to go anywhere too. Thank you for the outstanding poetry.

It is said some are givers and some are takers. This one is addressed to the latter, but in a nice way. He is invited to take many things, mainly her, to things she wants to do. Still, there is one no-no: Don't ever take her for granted. Picky woman.

Time spent together can be more valuable than expensive jewels and as your last line clearly says, taking someone for granted won't lead to any road with a happy ending at its destination.
Time can make the poorest rich, with memories of happy times that didn't cost the earth, but can make memories you would need dynamite to remove.

I think your poem is a delightful and playful exploration of the many ways that love and affection can be expressed. You use a clever repetition of the phrase "take me" to convey the narrator's desire for connection and companionship, and the different scenarios you describe are imaginative and fun.
Your poem seems to suggest that love is about more than just grand romantic gestures - it's also about the little things, like going on a picnic or taking a moonlight drive. It's a reminder that relationships are built on shared experiences and mutual respect, and that it's important to appreciate and cherish the people in our lives.
