Falling

Falling

A Poem by Dara
"

This poem is about 'moving on' after the death of a loved one with the help of a dear friend.

"

Thoughts drifting like clouds on a summer day,

you are the air surrounding me

swirling and twirling.

My body seems light as a feather

and I feel as if I am floating

like an autumn leaf falling from a tree.

Suddenly I feel hands reaching out to grab me

cradling me like a child

holding me tightly

never letting go.

Dara, this is so romantic and downright magical. You should write in free verse more often. Lovely. Lydi**

i really enjoy the images and feeling of safety and assurance i get from your poem ...suffering, loss, and grieving make little real sense to us ... so i think your choice of free form is perfect ... because as with so much of life ..we simply have to let go and trust ..so glad i found this one this morning

An enchanting reminder that those loved ones who pass never really leaves us. Just as our thoughts never really leave them. Regardless of your style, free writing or rhyme, you are always a wonderful read.

Anyone that's lost a loved one understands the feelings driving this poem. I found the free verse well done and fitting. Very striking visuals, too. Well done!
