October Octave Sunsets Pumpkin Pink and Orange

October Octave Sunsets Pumpkin Pink and Orange

A Poem by Patricia Wedel
"

Scarecrows beside a split-rail fence... looking for goblins and such

"
As the Autumn Sun becomes bright and evening breezes sing

I hear the music of the Angels who guard our every move...

Cedar Waxwings are sitting in the Crabapple trees munching

on the berries as they wait for the weathering storms...

Seed Seekers visit the feeder as they chirp and chatter with

tales of Wood Meadow Sage...

Bluejays plump from Summer's berries on bittersweet vines

visit our porch and deck feeder for a quick snack and then off to

discover the other gourmet locations to keep in mind when

grey clouds and snow descend from the North...

Tufted Titmice need a safe place to land as they wait for

their turn to feed where a Peck at a time will suffice when

Winter brings Ice and Snow on frozen ponds where children skate to

the song of the Whippoorwill and the sounds of the Downy Woodpecker...

You truly do love nature and especially birds. Your imagery in this one is splendid, Pat. I can almost hear the birds chirping in the trees. Yes, Autumn is here and with it comes thoughts of Halloween and pumpkins. Sunsets seem to be painted a bit brighter this time of year. The way you see the birds makes me smile. So lovely. Lydi**

A feast of birdies enjoying their own feast before a hard winter sets in. If you can see all these varieties of our avian friends in your garden Pat, then you are surely blessed. Autumn is a most colourful time of year. I imagine you are making the most of their visits and the song they bring you while the days are still light. May they always bring you joy dear Pat.

Such a beautiful description in the title alone Pat, that resonates even here in ever darkening Scotland, where the Sun seems to be losing to gravity, as it struggles to stay above the horizon. But even that brings almost surreal hues to our ever decreasing daylight.
Won't be long before kids go to school in the barely light yet and return to fading darkness, but no matter the length of time, it is so worth pausing for a "skirting sunset", where the sky turns kaleidoscopic and we are transfixed by natures never ending box of tricks 😀

There is a chill in the Air as winter whispers through the trees...
Mums are keeping quiet as bumble bees buzz to advertise the
sweet honeycombs... sharing their farewells with flowers that
are ready for a long Winter's Nap... as the Sun sets on the horizon of
dreams. the author petal Pat
