Luck

Luck

A Chapter by Ink

These boys went home. Reaching their house they wondered why not all the lights are lit. But if you are ten aside from this question in head you cannot enumerate all reason of such. So they went in and bid their parents love, kisses and hugs, went to grandpa and gave him respect, hugs and forehead kisses.

" Where have you been?" Asked Grandpa
" The woods!" Said Janson and his parents turn to him frowning.
" The edge of the woods." Corrected Jarson, and his parents turn to him nodding.

" Child don't get caught with what is where. Be specific, you must stay safe." Cal their father each tap their shoulders.

" Now in the woods you know its dark, it always is, and they say a mad man runs afoot and that is why you two princes of mine should stay where you are allowed to stay." Andi their mother exclaimed.

" But dear parents, the woods is big, and he is one man." Janson explained further, " If anyone is to be specific its 'they' who make such stories. We can be safe in the woods, children will be safe in the woods if we knew where that mad man resides that place we can avoid!"

" How smart you are for your age? But best be humble too." Grandpa said so frankly.

And so they ate dinner, such a lovely feast. Bread , cheese, grape juice, half of turkey and a basket of fruits.

" Now children..." Cal cleared his throat. " I trust as smart as you are to understand what me and your mother would say, also grandpa."

The twins bobbed their head towards each others attention, and same momentum of look to their father
" Which is what?" Asked Jarson
" Well go on Father do tell!" Excitedly exclaimed of Janson

And its here in this moment when you can tell from exchange looks of mom and dad that the turning point is almost at hand.
" This is not about school is it Mother?" Jarson gently asked
" No my dear." Andi replied slowly
" Well yes and no." Cal added shorty
" Oh do tell already." Janson exclaimed yet again

" Well laddy, our family, as useful as we are to this community , is finally set free" Cal said singfully
" We had been assigned to another place, to help that another place." Andi added

" We are going to move! Again." Grandpa finished

The boys changed horrified looks. They had learned to love this place, such wonder and possibilities.
" Our Luck is running out!" Said Janson to Jarson
" No remedy to that." Added Jarson
" Now children what luck is it this time?" Cal asked routinely as the boys call opportunity 'Luck'.
" To conquer the magic woods." Janson replied
" The woods that is here is more magical than the last one." Jarson added

And their parents corrected them of magic and lore from this land. Told them they had a couple of days to say goodbye to everyone on the village.
And as they went to bed Janson is sad, but Jarson is not, and the former noticed this.
" Why am I the only sad child?"
" Because I had come to realize."
" What brother?"
" They say magic woods isn't true"
" Yes?"
" If the source of such fad is same as the mad man..."
" Then there is no mad man!" Janson finished Jarson's sentence
