Always

Always

A Poem by Perdition

Forget this gardener's gate

forget the opiate strands of your apothecary

the old stars bursting into young photograph

warm beneath the charm of wooden lock

Forget our moment's pain

our delicate utopian hour

these days that come into one

returning out again

warm as your bed beyond the margin

the worlds of old stars whirling through insanity

Naked where the sunlight grows

forced to keep in our kind soft bed

your skin beneath my own

cradled as the injured bird of dawn

so trusting of love that I cannot

hold as if to own within these arms

The tree we knew when waiting

the connection of our branch as if our skin

however so small

in the summer's rain,

talking, awaiting, alive as though

the root beneath our hearts

As then it was there I came to know

as then it was there that the taste, the fruit and

love we touched did grow

wanting our steps in the path to follow

waiting for the other’s arrival

Our tears adorned these nights in waiting

our words and fragrance from the sill of our duvet

our lips then tasting each sweet cup beneath this lone embrace

One slight word to know the end into another

the thoughts that lingered soft into the doubts

moonlight tangling in the limbs that found their will

our strands lapped in the lap of watery night

together

Tell me

If it is only in this single word then tell me

I will wait inside your wish

I will wait beside your prayer

I will wait with a single word by you

if it is the thought and ours together

Tell me your truth as I have touched my own

tell me your pain as I have lived my own

tell me this all-

But do not tell me with words alone

Tell me as if you are here

along side my life and next to what comes as will

tell me again beneath our slow moonlit dance

tell me this all as you come into my arms

at last in the garden of love made

always~

I love the comparison of a love story to the tree. This is a poem the has a delicate timeless feel to it.

I think everyone want to know the other person loves them in return and also to not only say it but show it with actions.

Sjoeeeee amazing...what words do I have but to feel the deepest truths come alive...in the tenderness of the misty moments that hang upon our heart that gently call the soul to surrender and be as one though far away we cannot see but love it guides the way....floating upon these words in loves sweet embrace and wishing .....🌹

many things this could be in reference...but i have to tell you where i went with this, and it fit so well as soon as the idea struck me....Big fan of Shakespeare and the 1968 version of Romeo and Juliet.
the apothecary, the branch that helped Romeo get up to the balcony...the promises of future, although stomped out by the hate of the Capulets and Montagues for each other...the love that was fatally wounded as soon as Romeo saw it in the stars...
"then I defy you, Stars" as he said...with such sadness and angst.
love this one....you can create vivid scenarios, always, with your poetry.

I don't know if it's because it's been a long while since I read You that I feel this, though Your style is the same, profound as ever, as if You are talking with Your inner where there is only You and "Him". But there is something very special about this poem, really deep and unknown, suddenly somewhere between Your lines (not in the words) something hits me deep, a very mysterious feeling that let me be sad, warm and overwhelmed, and left me with no words to say, it's like saying "I understand You without You having to explain it in words". and when the last three verses came, it gave a gentle touch of that truth, and there where Love wants actions not only words, and there where Love stands with yearnings and more, stands eternal. I don't know how You could deliver through these simple words in Your ending verses some of the extending emotions like that... one shouldn't be looking to the words, but to feel Your heart flowing in them. I don't know if I said it right and how it should be, it's not something to be written but to grasp in higher sense, I can't lie to what I feel, and I must believe that You understand my words too.

haunting, in a boundless private way. Bless You Joe✨
