The Forest Elf Chronicles: The Third Scroll

The Gatherers

It could not be understated the importance of the Gatherers

Those like Lily Padd, Heather Heath, and Juglans Walnut

Along with Barri Bush exemplars of foraging exploration

Twas a mix of work and pleasure as they enjoyed their tasks

Pine cones picked for roof tiles and bark from several trees

Grasses, ferns, lichens and fungi taken for Crafters needs

Common cloth was made from flax and bamboo viscose yarn

Mushroom mycelium a desired fabric for very special gowns

The royal product being fibroin from mulberry silkworm cocoons

Lily Padd enthusiastically looked after all phases of silkworm care

Feeding, habitat, larva, spinning silk and training moths for mating

Barri Bush teased when she prepared them but helped collect eggs

Honey Meadows, nickname ‘Buzz Beautiful’ for her alluring looks

And Honey’s intimate psychic correlation with friendly forest bees

Resulting in cakes of waxing polish and the sweetest clover honey

Barri Bush, with four Elf fellow gatherers amassed sexton beetles

Their brightly patterned elytra of black and orange useful to Crafters

And live Fireflies for the Mystics to utilise in their magic spells

And for Defenders’ purpose the deadly blister beetle hunted

Their toxic cantharidin secretions used for dipping swords tips

Safely locked away in the Defenders’ Lianas quarters basements

Heather Heath and Juglans Walnut were expert scavengers

They could see uses in objects others would have discarded

Intuitively creating tools and products from innovative recycling

Bois DeBoulian walked amongst Gatherers to study their ways

Chief advisor to Lord Araceae he took interest in all the classes

Both Eldar and Avari Elven blood flowing through muscular veins

His unique physical appearance and presence commanded respect

In tandem with attentive and sympathetic assistance when required

Was reflected in the appreciations spoken by all the Gatherers

Numerous tasks are blissfully undertaken by the many Gatherers

We are as nothingness without their loyalty and faithfulness

So ends the third scroll chronicles: Leif the Wizard privileged servant
