Here He Is

Here He Is

 

Once upon a time there was a baby

Who came to fulfill a divine destiny.

Bundled of pure love,

Blessed from above.

 

Here He was,

Come for us.

The beginning of life everlasting--

Forgiveness for the asking.

 

A promise kept,

In the baby who wept.

Was He dreaming of the day

When His life He’d lay?

 

Sleeping still in peace,

Knowing man would be set free,

His heart of compassion did beat

For all humanity.

 

Nestled inside

Was the Father’s love, for all time.

True love He already knew,

For He’d come from the God of truth.

 

Here He is,

Our Christ cherished.

May He nestle in the hearts of man

Until He comes to take us by the hand.
