City of Loneliness - Part I

City of Loneliness - Part I

A Poem by Raja
"

'For those Who are Lost in City '

"

City of Loneliness

Part I

Only they start beholding me as an
Unknown face

Only they behave like I
Will steal their wealth, but I never will.
Alas! They think I am the intruder
In a lonely city…

Myriad, lots have come n’ melt
Mystery, lots get lost n’ rise
Memory, lot of time flies n’ lands

I, me, myself
They, them, themselves

I shoulder the indescribable pain
Of loneliness in the midst of
Gathering, like a perfect child

I look forward to talk and smile
With someone I never knew, but
With someone I ever feel
‘I will be alone…forever’!

fantastic piece

You capture it well. It is almost a feeling of being invisible in the midst of so many people which is almost preferable to looks of indifference. Loneliness is a cruel affliction. Nice poem.

I can truly empathize with this feeling. I have lived in places where I felt these exact feelings. Nicely expressed. I might consider using the word 'knew' instead of 'know' in the last stanza - it would make more sense that way. Otherwise, a great write. Thank you for sharing.

This was quite interesting. You managed to not only write about loneliness, but to allow your words to convey a mood of loneliness. Keep writing.

I love the old English tone that this gives off.

Loneliness is most painfully felt, when surrounded by people who look right through you.

Another well wrought piece, and I shall expect nothing less from here on out.

I think my favorite part in this piece is the ending, as I can certainly relate to it.
I believe an ending can make or break a piece, and this ending certainly made it!

Excellent work!
