Our Rain (love's irony)

"Our Rain"

It’s raining here now, quite charming - somehow,

rain gently reminds me of You.

Sweet thoughts come to mind, how we seemed designed

to be “one” … tho, we were once two.

With soothing soft sound, wind blows drops around,

pattering ‘gainst my windowpane.

I’ve oft’ wondered why, resigned with a sigh,

’tis insane, almost inhumane,

that all we've been through , so in-love we two,

our bodies will never embrace.

It’s so hard to bear that you’re everywhere …

in everything, I see your face!

Your bright, spark’ling eyes, warm, smooth velvet thighs

imagined enfolding my frame.

Oh, come sate this thirst, ere parched hungers burst;

softly, our rain’s whisp’ring your name.

Heard, each daffodil ‘neath my windowsill

beckon in your lush, luring voice.

The harder it pours, like thundering roars,

our coursing blood leaves us no choice.

Deep, hot passions surge - into one we merge;

the earth 'neath our world stirs around.

Secure in our rain, two lovers ordain

to be evermore tightly bound.

Phenomenal. I love your rhyming scheme, the writing style. Your poetic choices flow perfectly. There's a melancholy to the poem, but yet it still feels somewhat hopeful. Like waiting for someone you love to come home and they're running late.

Genuinely great writing - I'll be reading more!

I feel the rain as a cleansing of all that we wish forgotten. A refreshing of the love once had
and the hope, the prayer for its renewal. What a beautiful episode you portray with your words.

Beautiful in all areas the ebb and flow of the use of words so true, bringing the two alive. Such love one can only hope for and search for - the wait will be worth it. 🌹

Without any excuses or fawning, i can only say this is expresses more than everything for those who haven't your romantic language. Perhaps that rain are the tears of lovers apart but always knowing there's true love been the two.. For many, tis.. if only.

sometimes it's better to leave without "a stack of words"... it's simply the complete surrender to Love's primal flow, to Love's Kismet, in the senses and mind, in a "whole" way that even everything around flow with the same rhythm... in sadness and happiness, in pain and joy...

it's simply the surrender of the universe to Love's primal flow...

My favorite verse there. This is such a divine poem on rain, dear Richard. You have skilfully brought out the gentle sensuality that lovers associate with rain. It sets the stage for romance with its soft, alluring verses, great flow and rhyming.

I really love how it ended. The last two line speak a lot. When an individual sees who supposed to be his love, it really make sense. No regret. Well crafted.

Richard- I love the following lines and am now waiting to sate that thirst of ours. I’m sorry to be so brazen- but your words brings out the wanton woman in me.

“Your bright, spark’ling eyes, warm, smooth velvet thighs

Oh, come sate this thirst, ere parched hungers burst;
softly, our rain’s whisp’ring your name.”
