Against soul-sucking norms

But it’s so much easier

To give in and conform

i think that blindly following where others go is the whole reason our country is so politically fucked up. it is maddening to watch. i refuse to conform. on a lighter note, this reminded me of National Lampoon's "lemmings", an album done back in the 70's which was a hilarious satire on the woodstock festival..thank you for the reminder of such a great entertainment! you are a fun and gifted writer, Rita!

Thanks, Quin! I'm glad to remind you of good times. I was actually thinking about the fact that conformity is a huge part of the country's problem, and almost included a line like: "I'll just do as you say, after all, it's the American way..." Seems that came through anyway!

This was a really awesome poem, not to mention I was surprised by the correct usage of the semi colon. (Then I realized this was done by an English teacher haha). I really liked the visuals in this poem and I could relate, oddly enough. Good job!!!
