Morning Person

Morning Person

A Poem by Rita L. Sev
"

Yep, I'm one of those!

"

Up, awake

I can’t wait to start

The day is just beginning

Gonna walk in the sunshine,

Gonna down some joe,

My thoughts are already spinning

Most alive

in the early hours

It’s all ahead, just waiting

Eager to go

Get my blood flowing

The dawn is soul-elating

Don’t lay around

Wasting the light

Allowing your mood to worsen

It’s wonderful to hold

The new-born day

For the upbeat morning person!

She pulls the covers over her head
And moans, "please go away...
I want to stay right here in bed
I may lie here all day..."

Morning people...bleh!!

This was a cute little piece.
I enjoyed it, as I do all of your writing.

I hope you liked my answer!!

Ha! Great rebuttal! Thanks, Angel!
Lina's like that, if she wakes up early enough. get up at 3 or 4, and she's a delight. get up at 6 or later, she hates you. it's weird, because she never falls asleep till around 12 or 1, and really annoying, because I like to be asleep at 4 in the morning.... XP anywayss, i like the attitude of this poem. really upbeat, really gets you into the mood. a curious, and rare, outlook on life:
"Don’t lay around
Wasting the light
Allowing your mood to worsen"
beautiful penning :) nice job

haha your kids must love that ;)
So many mornings... They bring new hope, but they beg a price as well. Might as well pay up with a smile, the balance will be paid either way. I have days like you and days that feel like waking up in bitter tar... I like the happy ones better!
Thank you for sharing your bright outlook!

Thanks for reading. I prefer the happy morning too - they make for happier days.
Since I hardly sleep ever, this does not compute! All this positivity Rita, you're starting to get on my nerves! lol....good one, I love the early morning hours best, just the dawn, quiet and my cuppa, was really special when I still had my own house, used to sit back by the pool and just daydream...sigh, yep, lovely time of day.

i used to rise at 4:30 am and begin my 12 hour day at the shipyard, seven days a week. now i am retired and rarely get up before 11 am....i love sleeping in. guess i don't love the day as much as i used to. love your optimistic and bright take on the issue though. very sweet and cleverly penned piece.

Thanks - as long as I've had sufficient sleep, I don't like being in bed when the sun is up.
With that smile.. you must be a morning person :)
I am a morning person too.. well.. I like waking up in the morning before everyone else. Watching the sun rise.. go for a walk.. do some yoga.
But Im not sure I am as joyful as you ;) hehe
