Woo, Jersey tomatoes! This one is really tasty Rita! Tomato basil sandwiches are really great :-) I like how you describe the tomatoes, especially the detail about them coming from the corner store. Also, that closing part about Christmas in July is a nice touch.

How delicious a read, and your photo is mouthwatering. I wish I wasn't allergic to those red beauties, alas, I have mine with red peppers, still the same festive feel.
