Freshwater Tears

Freshwater Tears

A Poem by Rita L. Sev

Summer, 2013

in sepia streams
beckoning under a deceptive sky

ravenous after having her fill
she seizes
swallows whole
the drifting deadwood
adding freshwater tears
to the flood
