Fortune

Fortune

A Poem by Rita L. Sev
"

...

"

If I hit the lottery

for fifty million bucks

they would declare with certainty,

“Now there’s a gal with luck!”

If I became a superstar

with tabloid-worthy fame

they’d say I had a charmed life

each time they heard my name

I’ve won the family lotto;

I’ve achieved friendly renown

The people in my life provide

The best fortune around

:) Brother and sister in Spirit, at least!
Witty, charming with good moral. I'll take the money but you can have the fame.

:) Yes, I suppose so - and a smile is of great value! Thanks, Frieda!
Money can't buy happiness ! Celebrity fame can be a fickle life choice !

Nice moral message within this quirky and witty poem !

Haha oh yes, I get that a lot ;)
I think you're very lucky--maybe luckier than someone who actually did win the lottery. (No, I don't really believe that.)

;) I am very lucky, but I wouldn't throw out the winning lottery ticket...
Corny yes, but a philosophy not held by enough people, who fail to see that their biggest fortune is their friends and family. My little grand duaghter was telling her mother the other day...."I think you still like me, mummy, even though you have left me and daddy. Money is not that important, but coming home to us is very important and worth a fortune to us".
She is only six, bless her.
Her mummy left them three years ago, and works full time away, and rarely comes home. She wants to earn her fortune, she tells us..... How sad. Innocence in a six year old, speaking the heartfelt truth, not yet influenced by life....
