Carly Faye McRay

Carly Faye McRay

A Poem by Rita L. Sev
"

.

"

“I don’t believe in ghosts!”

said Carly Faye McRay

as she boldly walked

into the haunted house

Upon passing through the doorway,

she felt the air go cold

as a breeze rustled the ruffles

of her blouse

The lights began to flicker

and the chair began to rock;

still not convinced, she kept on

walking through

Next she heard some moans

and the rattling of chains;

she even heard

a clichéd spectral “Boo!”

“Um… I don’t believe in ghosts…”

stammered brave miss Carly Faye,

to the presence of which she

was now aware

“But I just remembered something,

and I really have to go…”

And Carly Faye McRay

flew outta there!

Haha, what an excuse. :) Enjoyable read!

Anyway, the clichéd spectral “Boo!” would have sent me laughing instead of running. :)

;) Yes, I just can't stand a cliche!
So - it happens to the non-believer - I'd be like the cowardly lion out of Oz wetting myself and repeating "I do .. I do .. I do believe in spooks... I do .. I doooo).
Great laugh Rita - thanks for that

Thanks, Pryde. Names come in handy for rhyme and cadence... :)
Reminds me of my 4 your old daughter who once told me "I don't believe in ghosts." To which I replied "You've better not say that.Or they might get you." Immediately she said "Help! Mommie! I do believe in ghosts. They won't get me now will they?"
