Pumpkin spice coffee

and pumpkin spice cream

pumpkin spice donuts ~

I’m seeing a theme

pumpkin spice cupcakes

with pumpkin spice tea

we’re going too far

with this pumpkin-y-spree

pumpkin spice toothpaste

and pumpkin spice wine ~

next they’ll put pickles

in pumpkin spice brine

I guess it’s just Fall;

it’s the pumpkin’s main stint…

next month everything

will be Christmas-y mint.

Ha...seems they beat any idea to death now a days. Personally I'm a French vanilla girl..pumpkin spice only appeals to me in the form of pie. But give me a cup of french vanilla tea and I'm in heaven. :-)

I like the pie best too - as for coffee, I'm a purist - strong black coffee flavored coffee! :)
It all sounds good to me...even the toothpaste. Very cute and quite seasonally correct Rita.

Ha! I was getting hungry until... Your writing just feels so relaxed and easy, Rita. I imagine words dripping from your pen. Pumpkin spiced words! Ha! Very fun read. I enjoyed. Angi~

Thank you, Angi - you know how it is - some days the words flow, other days... :)
He-he, you make me smile. I agree, too. I've had some of those pumpkiney drinks, and don't much care for them. Pumpkin bread or muffins, and pumpkin pie--those are where I like the taste of pumpkin. Maybe we should give mint some competition and promote the flavor of mistletoe for Christmas.....oh, wait...I think that's poison.

LOL! You are wise to avoid these fad flavors. Marie!
Personally I prefer the Christmas-y mint, but the pumpkin and cinammon is here to stay this time of year. Very cute write, Rita. Lydi**

I agree about that toothpaste - it just sounds wrong! Thanks, Cassie!
I have said this before...In Britain we don't have this Pumkin fetish, though, like everything American, it is GROWING on our side of the ocean. Each year the stores are becoming more and more wrapped up in the whole Halloween experience. Pumkins will be the next thing. So far all we do is make Jack o lanterns...Some bright spark is gonna say one day...HEY...In the States they actually EAT that stuff, and we will all no doubt be HOOKED.
Fantastic poem girl, as per usual from you.

I have a friend who insists on getting herself a pumpkin spice latte every single day during the fall. This is a very witty and humorous look at the trend-driven society that we live in. It had a bouncy rhyme scheme with a very unique rhythm and structure that I adore. Well done, Rita!

Thank you, Will - you should share this with your friend! LOL!
Really... You nailed it.
I hate trendy flavored crap. Makes me not want to eat or drink any of it.
I guess as long as there is no sugar, or alc. and it has fluoride, the toothpaste would work. Yuk!
Funny though.
