I Am The Road

I Am The Road

A Poem by Rita L. Sev
"

.

"

I am the road

        full of holes and cracks

        paved over, but the scars

        are there

I am the road

        to unbridled adventure,

        and unknown corners,

to past recollections and future folly

I am the road

        broken

        and winding

        yet which remains

firmly under your feet

When you have wandered

into weary ~

I am the road

to lead you home.

Sort of a metaphor for someone who cares and has the scars of love and life. Funny how I thought that huh? lol I like it.

Thank you, Relic. The scars keep it interesting, I suppose. :)
Those ramblings thoughts can be insightful and a joy to read. Really enjoyed this Rita.

Thank you, Red. I don't always obey the rambling... going to allow them in more often...
It might be a rambling thought but it is beautiful, so much so I wanted to walk upon it. It is written with a depth of emotion and an open heart.

Thank you, Blue. Sometimes my pen just does its own thing...
An unusual piece from your pen...
I thoroughly enjoyed it. As a mother, I can certainly relate to the idea of being the road that leads them...

Thank you, Angel - It felt unusual while writing, but it begged to be written just the same...
Roads can lead us to so many places and can mislead us to wandering. We need maps and the right compass to reach the right destination. Signs on roads are very important too...Bravo for this unique and good poem...:)....................
