Leaf Song

Leaf Song

A Poem by Rita L. Sev
"

...

"

A perfect, gorgeous golden leaf

fell from tree to ground

Singing as she floated,

though she didn’t make a sound

Her lyrics traveled on the wind

they linger in my mind

She sang the joy of having known

the Life she’d been assigned

Her sweet, divine existence

echoes ours, however brief

So now before my Fall I’ll sing

the anthem of the leaf

Your poem is so lyrical and philosophical. The leaf has no laments, just the joy of having lived- it's really beautiful.

Thank you so much, Blue - yes, no laments. We should all be so open to joy...
yes, this is good...it is like people...sometimes we don't hear their song, we just feel it in our minds.

and people often float by us in life...and we don't notice them until their last fall...then we appreciate them more than ever...if only we would have noticed much earlier...we could have enjoyed them for many seasons.

Yes, if only... We could hear the music others make, and to sing our own song as well... Thank you, .. read more
This is rather quaint. Good rhymes too. It makes me want to go outside, rake up a shitload of leaves and jump into them. I'm not gonna do it though cause I hate yard work. Maybe I'll just jump into the neighbor's above ground pool instead. Yes I live in a classy neighborhood

This was an outstanding poem and a departure from your other writes. I felt the appreciation of the grand scheme in nature and how those sounds and sights affect us deeply...Bravo

Thank you, Red... :)
Hello Rita:) Hope you are well?

I often find myself sitting, listening and taking in the sweet sounds of nature and what it has to offer. To many of us, the things are occurring along with the sounds they project mean nothing but to the select few we can see, hear and feel the existence is there and serves a purpose somewhat. Your piece has beautiful imagery and is graceful.

Troy
