Dust

Dust

A Poem by Rita L. Sev

My soul

feels

the burn

of humanity

I sweep the dust

under the rug,

where it smolders.

Today,

instead,

I will rise

from

the

ashes

Thank you, Brittany!
A departure of sorts for you my friend...I was anticipating a dark piece after the first half or so but it gets a positive lift at the end...I'm still shaking those ashes off but hopefully I'll be mobile enough to rise at some point haha Nicely done Rita :)

LOL Oh it's great for the Universe, it's my balance I'm worried about ;)
well done Rita; thought provoking and inspiring at the same time ... this is a wonderful time in the Catholic Church and tho not a member I am always humbled and reminded of our place on the earth .. as well as God's Son Jesus Christ ...

"I sweep the dust
under the rug,

where it smolders." really gets me .. beautiful!

Thank you, A - glad you enjoyed!
This is a great example of simple and effective poetry. You sweep the embers under the mat and feel the smoldering only to burn and destroy at some point, but rather create an existence, an entity from them and rise.

Awesome.
