Seek and Find

Seek and Find

A Poem by Rita L. Sev

Found Jesus in a grilled cheese

His mother on a tree

The word “God” in an eggplant

(You have to squint to see…)

We’re told we’re in His likeness

As we kneel beneath the steeple

So when I seek the face of God

I just look at His people

Love it. We were just talking about this the other day when I noticed then my wife a picture of a child in a woman's bruise. I joked "I'm glad we didn't see the face of Jesus or we'd have to pray to it."

Haha! I am always fascinated by the stories of where people see a divine image. Some of them are p.. read more
Interesting. The divine is not in just chanting and prayers but recognising it in everything in this world matters the most. Very nice.

Wow that's some evoo ;-) I bet you don't even have to go to confession after that haha
This has always been a purely subjective phenomenon...being as I am a spiritual person though, I'm willing to give anything a chance haha I only wish people would not ridicule those who are interested in such things though...that's why I don't reveal my spirituality too often...I just can't be bothered with obnoxious and self-righteous people. But I digress. I love the way you mingled various references, and especially loved the rhyme which adds a tongue-in-cheek element to it. A most interesting piece :)

Thank you very much, T.H.
I love this. I think all that stuff is so silly, because, of course, if you believe in the divine, all you have to do is look to nature and all its amazing wonders for "the face of God"

When I read these stories I wonder what it is that they are really seeking... Thanks, KL.

It's been sitting around having its picture taken, what do you expect? Perhaps some wine... ;)
Excellent plan. God can be found everywhere if we just look.
