Taste This Knife...

Taste This Knife...

A Poem by Rossen

Beat poem ~ Best read "OUT LOUD" inspired by (Poppy Silver)

"
Beautiful deep red cellophane, pulled tightly to her lovely brain
looking up again, white out baby, white out
lips pursed... razor tongue tattoo
fire starting lenses flare
now she looks at you

Powder white perky and tight
she set's you ablaze tonight

soft and gentle soothing and kind,
someone to love, to love, to love
she takes you under-wing
melds a loss, feels your sting

listen to her ways of warning
she is on the mark, she is, she is...
please hear her rebel sway...
share her love, save the day

full of life, so cut by strife
sharpest edge, taste this knife

rhyme and pine for her, so faraway
skinny-dip in silver streams
on pillows to lay, opium dreams
colorful blooms give her away, away...

The repetition here is stunning and alluring. This has a foot tapping rhythm that is entrancing. Brilliant work Rossen.

Love how you have made this form your very own in this poem. The rhyme and repetition give it an amazing pace. An "opium dream" of a poem with a cutting twist!

Excellent. Don't know how adept I am at reading a beat poem out loud, but I tried and I like. :)
