IF THIRST WAS WRITTEN ( A RUBA'IY)

IF THIRST WAS WRITTEN ( A RUBA'IY)

A Poem by Shabeeh Haider

If thirst was written on my scroll, why did you make the seas?

And if there was no shade for me, why did you plant the trees?

And if the heart was made to burn, the soul to suffocate,

Of what use is the summer's rain, of what use is the breeze?

Najam, thank you for your kind review.
Deeply influenced by this.
I've attained that sense of enlightenment at an early age, owing to understand faith and the creater of this vast universe. Truly, we oft question things.
And AS ONE DELVES DEEPER IN THE OCEAN
ONE FINDS A DIFFERENT WORLD THERE.
Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry and telling us about a form of poetry most of us weren't familiar with.
