The Masquerade

The Masquerade

A Chapter by Linzey
"

His guests soon arrive for a masquerade that is full of surprises...

"
The energy in the house begins to rise
I can feel the heat
The heart beats
And the joy that comes with all of the smiles and laughs
How it makes me sick
It is best to wait though
To take this all in for I will be feeling the same way
Soon enough
She has not arrived yet
Though she will be here soon...

Masks can be seen all around
Hiding all of our own identities
It will make for the most grand escape
No one will know who is leaving
Or who is arriving again
They will not know who still needs to return
Who left in the first place

For now let the dancing commence
Spinning, whirling
Creating paths of color in light
Moving from person to person
As the night slowly fades

*The doors open*

She is here...
