AND DEADLINES APPROACHED

Arms of steel.

Saving the damsel.

But only in theory.

The chisel chipped away.

And found it be an imitation.

As famine ravaged the lands.

And hazardous waste abound.

The dandelion grew steadfast.

While the mirror watched on.

Committed to the truth of what it saw.

While the tapestry spins it tale.

As the din raises higher.

The eye of the beholder.

Sings of worlds colliding.

While fantasies live on.

Casting spells, weaving charms.

The chameleon watches it all.

With a slippery exit, he leaves.

Deadlines loom near and far.

Children covered in dirt.

Shallow water drifts lazily by.

While the boom explodes.

Startling the damsel.

And shrunk the dandelion.

As the tapestry stopped spinning.

And fantasies died.

And deadlines approached…

The end.

This is very different than normal for you. But a creative person such as you have many sides. I am glad you are sharing this side with us. I love different voices from within a poet and I like your poetry a lot. That is why I search for you and your new writes.

This is so visual I can see it in my mind. A powerful message in this write, even though it is different than your usual poetry. Sometimes we just have to step out of our comfort zone to deliver a message. Thanks for sharing.
