The vacant look in her ocean eyes

Gazing up at star-speckled skies…

She sings,

But will never weep.

She closes her eyes,

But never finds sleep.

 

The vacant look in her lover’s eyes,

Star-speckled night skies…

His eyes are open,

But he forever sleeps.

He never sings,

But never weeps.

this was beautiful. I loved the descriptions you used: "ocean eyes," "vacant look in her lover's eyes," and "star-speckled night skies." they were great ways of using adjectives.

This is well done. I like how it switches point of view from the main person, to someone else....

This is really good. The wording was well-chosen, and there was a great contrast between the two characters here. There's a lot of subtext here, it's youthful but not naive; it's bittersweet without being sappy. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
