Aaron the Moor

Aaron the Moor

A Poem by The Raven King
"

A Metal song in homage to the Greatest Shakesperean Villian of All Time.

"

I dig up dead men from their graves
And set them upright silent slaves
At the doors of friends they stand
Words carved in flesh with my own hand
Though I am dead and gone away
Please cry for me a thousand days
Though I have said my final bye
Let not your sorrow ever die
Let not your sorrow ever die
Let not your sorrow ever die
Let not your sorrow ever die

Some say revenge is best served cold
Well I like mine served a la mode
Let numbness melt and drip away
From tender hearts and sanity
So I can poke and prod and push
Your sensibilities to mush
And sear the back of your eyelids
So when you sleep you just see this
Though you fear no frightful beast
No god or devil in the least
You fear me a mortal man
True evil is a mortal man
True evil is a mortal man
True evil is a mortal man

You warn your children of the night
And push them all towards the light
I was a child not long ago
And I was forced down the same road
I am a product of my world
No hell is here no horns beheld
Just flesh and bone
Humanity
Look in the mirror and you’ll see
Look in the mirror and you’ll see
Look in the mirror and you’ll see
You reap what you sow
so reap what you see

the hip hop/spoken word flow works well. I'm a fan of ryhme to beat and because of the word choice and hook the feet keep tapping and the head keeps rocking. Almost a positive blast with lines like "a la mode" which takes me to a soul's of mischief style place.

thanks for the throwback

This is great! It has a smooth flow and a steady beat that leads you through the poem. I enjoyed it and could see the poem as a lead in to a great story. Cherrie
