No Heart Never Love(d)

 

 

It makes sense to just give up,

to throw away my chances,

to leave behind the pain.

But my heart begs me to follow

all those desperate old clichés:

“No pain, no gain.”

“Follow your heart.”

 

What if I have no heart?

It’s entirely possible.

After all, I’ve never loved,

and never been loved.

 

 

“Never give up.”

 

Okay.

 

I’ll pick up the pieces and start again.

Once again.

Maybe for the last time,

and maybe not.

 

“Love yourself.”

Maybe that’s all I need.

wow this is a poem that is really realteable. it makes me think, what if all you really need is to love yourself? i pretty much fell in love with this, i love the whole idea of it. ontop of that, the the flow was really good, and it moved really easily. amazing job :)

Thanks for the review and I'd be happy to oblige a review in return. It's nice to find someone with their own writing style. When reading this, it feels like there's two people talking back and forth. I love the bold, "No heart, never love." But it's missing the (d) :O. Anyways, it's a nice poem delving straight into the depth. It has a lot of feeling and emotional sway. You'd like a writer by the name of Jeannie Wilder on this site. You have a similar writing style with her.

Nice punctuation, nice use of font styles and grammar, nice flow. It moves on just like a river on the sands of time. Again, your experimentation -or- your marvelous poem, are credits that you are growing as a writer. And I hope we can be best of friends. :P
