A Chapter by Ed

Leo passed through the edge of the jungle onto the savanahas
of the southern african grasslands.  He followed a stream treading
the soil of a nearby damp river.  He passed fallen trees as he
jumped over them.  Finally, he reached a vantage point
of changing landscape.  Bushes and stubble brushing against his
face, being weary of what lied ahead around trees had come to an end.  He could see
the horizon for the first time in weeks.  He was hungry, motivated
and refreshed at the change of scenery.  Able to
see the sunlight clearly and the change of pace.
Even though hungry he was motivated, and refreshed.

He swiftly ran down the hill that clearly marked the edge
of the jungle and its thick vegetation which he had been inhabiting for what seemed
like endless moon cycles.

As he got to the bottom of the hill, he slowed down unsure of what he
sensed ahead. Reminscent of childhood but menacing.  The thought "there's no going back" came to him.
He approached over the tall grass cautiously, quietly, to find a gazelle. He instinctially pounced.

In that moment another lion also pounced, and Leo found himself in the fight for his life.
The gazelle quickly jumped out of the way and Leo came crashing into the paws of an older lion.
It took only a second for both lions to become fully virulent.
Leo grabbed on to the side of his opponent, biting into his shoulder and neck as the other lion strook the back of Leo's head.
the two lions lifted their paws to wrestle, with claws out.
Leo managed to lift the other lion and toss him on his back.
the other lion immediatly began running at Leo before getting back up.
Leo with his hind legs kicked the other lion on to a nearby tree as the rival approached him.

the lion immediately ran off.
Leo chased him for a few moments
but lost interest in fighting another lion quickly.
He saw the lion disappear in the distance as he
panted for air.  Wind blowing in the distance
a voice came up behind him.  "Wheres our lion?"
Leo turned around and it was a lioness
"I had a bit of a run in with him."
two more appeared from behind the first
"What do you mean?"
two more appeared from both sides of Leo's view
He started to feel surrounded. He started backing away
as the lionesses kept appearing.
"I had to fight him" Leo said.
"what",You fought Taurus"
said one of the lionesses.
"Yeah" "Did you win?"
"Yes" The group began to gasp. "I mean no, I've got to go"
said Leo.
"Hold on wait, you said you won against Taurus, didnt you"
A total of ten lionesses were looking at Leo.
"I didn't mean to. Bye"
Leo started walking quickly.
some of the lions looked at each other.
and started following Leo.
"wait, whats your name?"
"where are you going"
"Look, I don't want any trouble.
Whatever that lion meant to you,
he took off that way."
Leo nodded in the direction the other lion
took off.
and began walking again.
"can we come with you?
Where are you going"
came an utterance from the lions.

Leo stopped and said "No, to be honest
I don't know where I'm going"

"were coming with you"

Leo started to walk
and soon after
the lions started to follow
him.

Leo walked for about a few moments before
realizing he was being followed.
Leo looked at the lions and told
them to stop following him.

but they didn't listen, they
continued to follow.
and it went on
that way for a while.
