Chapter III

In the morning Leo awoke to find the elephant
staring at him.
It had gotten up a moment ago.
Leo stared back from the ground where he lay.
two beaming eyes staring at him.
He did not expect the elephant to survive the night
but there it was awake, standing infront of him.
It had only been knocked unconscious.
Leo thought to himself "oh no". He thought
he wouldn't have to worry about this by the morning.
or at the very least didn't think this through.
The elephant asked where his father and the rest of his group was.
Leo just stayed quiet and looked around at the sleeping lions.
"what did you get yourself into this time" Leo whispered to himself.
Leo told the elephant to be quiet and follow him as he got up and tipped toed across the sleeping lions
the elephant stepped on one of the lionesses legs and woke her up.
The lioness immediately got up as the elephant yelled and scurried towards and hid behind Leo.
"I'll make you a deal" "I'll stick with you if you don't eat the elephant"
"why do you want to keep it alive?" "I don't know" Leo said.
"alright"  "How are you going to tell the others"
"I'm sure they'll understand".
The lion walked back to the place where she was sleeping
She told the others to wake up.

So Leo looked after the
elephant, traveling with the
pride of lions.  Guarding the elephant from the lions and
leading the lions and earning their trust.
He would have conversations with the elephant.
Asking him where his herd had gone.
He said he knew but wasn't sure if they were headed the right way.
they walked across the grasslands, occasionally the lions departing to go hunt, and seldomly
finding a antelope or a zebra. Dragging peices of their hunt back to Leo.  The
elephant was disturbed to watch Leo eat.
They continued to hunt as they searched for sustainance in the greener pastures of
a thriving land.
when they heard something they never heard before.

Taurus was sore from the fight he
had with Leo.  He had
not come to terms witht the ramifications
of his defeat, he had never been beaten before
  A snake came hissing
and vulture came cawing. He quickly shook off his bruised ego and dusted
himself off as he turned to face a pack of animals consisting of chimps, baboons
hyenas, snakes, vultures and a cheetah.
They asked him "where have you been"
He responded "I was out hunting"
"you look a little beaten up"
One of the animals said.  " thats because I was hunting elephants,
no luck."  Taurus replied.  "is
that how you lost the lions?"
one of the heynas replied.
they ran when we were hunting the elephants
the animals looked at each other
and said right.

a hunter sat in his vehicle arranging his guns, knives, and his bag preparing to
walk into the wild of the african grassland.  He holstered his pistol and grabbed his rifle
and bag. and headed out into the african wilderness.
He trekked across the grassy plains until he could see something in the distance.
He looked through his binoculars to find a baboon.  The hunter thought to himself
it was rare to find a baboon this far south and began following the direction of
the babboon.  The babboon was headed down the shade of a row of trees.
The baboon was talking to a vulture high up.  As the Hunter continued to stalk the baboon
he noticed the vulture up in the sky.   Then a hyena appeared.  The hunter was amazed to see
this interaction between the baboon the hyena and the vulture.  He thought one of these
would make a good prize for how strange they behaved.  He Hid behind a tree as he steadied his
rifle to aim it when he heard a snapping of tree branches to the side of him.
He looked to find a cheetah slowly prowling towards him.  It began to growl.
The hunter stepped away to aim his rifle towards the cheetah.
"good kitty" as the hunter got the cheetah in his aim.
At that moment a chimp jumped and grabbed on to the side of the gun causing the hunter to pull the trigger.
The cheetah ran to avoid the rifle's line of fire
as the gun recoiled the hunter hit the chimp with his rifle
and the chimp immediately retreated back into the trees.
The sound of monkey screams rang through the trees
"what is going on?" the hunter yelled, as he cocked his rifle.
He began running through the wooded area of covered trees, aiming his rifle around him.
making sure that he wasn't going to be ambushed.

Then hyenas, Taurus, vultures, snakes and the cheetah Ekos appeared from behind the trees.
surrounding the hunter all at once.
fastening their pace.

The hunter gripped his gun trembling unsure which direction to aim his rifle, a vulture cawed
he immddiately fired creating an opening where heyenas stood. he ran passed the surrounding mass of animals
looking back. He saw a vulture fly overhead pecking and clawing at his back scratching him. He stopped running to shoot the vulture
He aimed his rifle and shot at the vulture. and the vulture fell to the ground.
The sound of animals could be heard closing in.  He had neared a cliff which had a steep jump of 20 to 30 feet.  He was not prepared for
the hoard of baboons and monkeys that would come directly attacking him.  He shot at them.  and continued to do so. with his pistols.

It was very strange to Leo because he could hear the sounds of monkey screams
a lion roaring, and gunshots.,   Now leo had never heard a gunshot before.
But before he knew what to make of it a man came falling out of the cliff along with a long metal device and a satchel.
he was curiously investigating these strange thundering echoes when Leo came across this where they had been coming from.  Leo backed up a little.
The man looked at Leo and began to pull ammunition out of his satchel to load his rifle
Leo looked at the man knowing the intent in his eyes and became less curious.  He looked up at the cliff to see Taurus, Ekos, and a number
of animals.  Taurus's  said "Kill him!".  Leo's demeanor changed to embrace the severity of the situation.  "Kill him, or he's going to kill you!" Taurus yelled at Leo.
at that moment Leo turned to the hunter and ran at full pace.  The hunter put in the last bullet, snapped the neck of his rifle, cocked it
realizing he was out of time, turned it towards Leo.  A blast from the rifle echoed, and the sounds of a man screaming were heard, as a lion growled.
