![]() NeverA Poem by Ian Faraway
Darkness starts to creep into my head
When the day is now night And I lay down to rest on my bed Exhausted to the point of paralysis But I'm not asleep Never Asleep Silence seems to taunt me endlessly Dangling my past as I try to drift away Into a deep sleep ever so desperately Images flash through my head of what was But they're not happy Never happy Unrest and self loathing grow As my past screams in my ear Though I swore to myself I'd let go I wish I could get over the disappointment But it's not easy Never easy All I want to do is sleep away Until my brain stops torturing me With the failures of yesterday How can I when I'm torn But my mind won't let me forget Never forget © 2013 Ian FarawayReviews
