~ Just don't think, and taste...

~ Cheesecake

When we were on the coast of Andalucia

In a small picturesque place

Full of colorful windows

And narrow streets…

You let me see a street

Where you have been before

I felt happy when the sun shone

And the birds flew,

Even though it was 45 degrees celcius

My skin was red of love

And my cheeks blushed

Only for your touch

You took me for tasting

The best cheesecake in town

And I could only think of the pleasure

This feeling in conjunction with your

Gaze while my fork would slip inside my mouth

You are a person who gets the worst

In me above, just by the way you look at me

What exactly is good, and I took a sigh, a breath…

As I walked through the alley

With your arms over my shoulders

The pure bliss and the fresh lemon taste

Of this cheesecake, made me relieve on a higher

Level, that day ... the aromas of your soul in the cafe

And the taste of this particular cheesecake you picked out

Mint lemon desert, oh it was an pure satisfaction and pleasure

Author's Note

Thank you xx

This write is about Andalucia, near to the port of Gibraltar, where my roots lay,
And the State of Malaga, is official in history owned by the Morrocan people, so
I feel a bit of both, lol....

I noticed something different since you have revealed a little bit of your heritage. Poetry had somehow transcends beyond social, economic and racial and intellectual boundaries . I always thought that if someone live in an affluent and prestigious place and english was their primary language that somehow they have advantage or should I say superior than the one that isn't. I was absolutely mistaken.
Poetry had somehow became the melting pot where these differences and complexes were unimportant if not nonexistent. Its not the language that we speak that has that greater influence on our piece but rather the cultural influence, heritage and experience we draw from these muses and inspirations. Poets that produces inspiring pieces don't just simply say and penned these words but somehow in their diverse peculiar walk of life and journeys did lived and experienced them drawing rich, unique , vivid and vibrant images . Somehow Poetry and Diversity achieved this peaceful coexistence... Its one thing to pen what we can think and imagine and another to capture the words we breathe, walk and experience with in depth perspective.
The more I read your piece Elisa the more I'm convinced that somehow you found that missing link that unites these difference and cross over boundaries that somehow eludes and separates humanity for centuries. Here were not concerned about status quo, colors, differences but rather on our common interest.

I believe Elisa your not simply a talented poet but a dreamer too. Your piece conveys the hopes dreams and melody of one talented singer and songwriter, John Lennon and my favorite piece " Imagine "

It is my greatest pleasure :)
I used to fantasize about cheese cake in Afganistan. All we had were MRE'S and they don't come with cheese cake or anything else someone would want to eat save coffee and candy. When I came home my wife had loaded the refrigerator with all manner of goodies one of which was a cheese cake. That was the best cheese cake I ever had. Loved the poem
