Cassandra

Cassandra

A Chapter by
"

Love is a factor.

"

Now amancipated, Derek lived with his friend Jason. "Why not, man? Why the hell not? There's nothing wrong with me. I've never made her cry. I've done everything for her. Why won't she love me? Why won't she, man?" Derek was drunk again.

It was pretty clear what happened. Once again, Cassandra ditched her best friend for her boyfriend. In 8th grade, Derek asked her out. She didn't want to be mean, so she said, "Maybe."

They were now sophomores and best friends. Cassandra thought she knew Derek completely like he knew her, but she didn't. She did know that Derek was in love with her, but she still told him every detail about her love life.

She tried hooking him up with some of her friends, but he'd find a reason for it not to work out. She didn't know that everyday, he went home and cut himself because of her. If Cassandra ditched him, he'd drink until he couldn't walk. Jason would help him get home. When Jason would go to bed, Derek would try to go to sleep, but she kept coming back.

Every morning, he'd pick up Cassandra at her house and they went to school. "So, how was your night?" Derek asked. "Oh my god! It was amazing. Brian took me to go see that new scary movie. You know, the one we were going to go see. By the way,t he mom was the killer. Anyways, we went back to my house and we laid there making out and holding each other. Jt was awesome. I'm thinking about going all the way with him. What do you think."

Derek hated her words, but loved her voice. He loved how one thing could make her happy, but he despised that it wasn't him. "I don't know, I think you should wait. I don't want him to use you just for sex." he said.

"Your probably right. I don't want him thinking he got me. So, how was your night." Derek decided from the beginning he'd lie to her about everything. He didn't want her pity, and he couldn't stand to see her frown. And if he caused it, theat would be the worst pain he could experience.

"I hung out with Hason and we just hung out," he said. He wanted to tell her how he felt. He wanted to scream at her for his pain and misery. But, he didn't.

"Oh my God, I forgot we had plans last night. I'm so sorry. It won't happen again," Cassandra said guiltily. At least this time she remembered she stood him up. "It's ok," Derek said holding back his anger.

They pulled up to the school. Then, something happened that would annoy Derek so much, that he wouldn't be able to hold back. Brian opened Cassandra's door. Right there, leaning on his car, Brian and cassandra started making out. "Hey, not on the car, retards," Derek yelled. "dang man, you don't have to flip out," Brian said sarcastically. "I'm sorry, I just got it washed, and I don't need filth leaning on it," he yelled back. Then, Brian said the words that would unleash the anger, pain, and tiger from it's cage. "At least I have a girl and I don't go around trying to take taken property.: Then, Derek's true side was unleashed.

He left hooked Brian in the jaw. Then, he punched him in the ribs. After that, he did a 3 punch combo into Brian's gut. He ended it off by roundhouse kicking Brian in the head. Brian was knocked out cold. "Stop!!! Your hurting him," Cassandra cried. As if it were a natural reaction, he went back into his sane side. "Just get out of here," Cassandra said. Tears were flooding her cheek. Derek ran to the bathroom, took out his razor, and opened up his wounds. He sat there, wishing he wasn't Derek anymore. He wanted to be someone else, but the realization of impossibility only made him cut deeper.
